How many outfits should a guy have?

I have 6 super nice outfits. I have other clothes but they are mostly plain. Like blue jeans black crewneck black jordans. But the outfits i am talking about are usually more colorful. And a lot more expensive. For example i have a mariners outfit which has the jacket. And the hat. And the scarf. And custom chucks to go with it. But i don't like wearing those outfits because i feel like people can remember the last time i wore them. And be like oh he wore that outfit last week. I think i should try to buy some more but they really break my pocket. So on average what is a good number of outfits for a guy to have? Not plain ones but ones that i will get compliments on like the one above.
